Our Mission

Access to health care is a right — not a privilege.
This fall, the Medi-Cal Program Outreach, Education & Referral Project invites African and African-Ancestry community members across Santa Clara County to learn, connect, and get covered.

Each event offers free, on-site Medi-Cal sign-up assistance in a safe and welcoming space, alongside opportunities to celebrate culture, faith, wellness, and togetherness.

Trained outreach staff will guide you step-by-step through the process, answer questions, and help ensure you qualify before the December 31, 2025 deadline.

Important for All Events

  • Medi-Cal sign-up assistance is available on-site at every event.

  • All Californians may now qualify for Medi-Cal regardless of immigration status — but you must apply before December 31, 2025.

  • Our outreach team provides safe, confidential guidance in English and other languages.

Please bring:

  • Form of ID

  • Signature (required)

  • Social Security Number (if available)

  • Income information (recent pay stubs if available)

Join us for a soul-lifting afternoon of food, faith, and fellowship as we celebrate unity, gratitude, and divine connection within the African immigrant and African ancestry communities.

The African Praise & Thanksgiving Brunch is a joyful gathering filled with praise music, worship, and meaningful conversation over a communal meal. Together, we’ll give thanks, uplift one another, and reflect on the blessings that unite us as a community.

Holiday African Foods Market & Community Day- Eat. Shop. Connect.

An open-air or parking lot-based African holiday market celebrating food, creativity, and connection.

Join us for a festive weekend celebrating African food, culture, and community! The Holiday African Foods Market & Community Day brings together local vendors, families, and cultural enthusiasts for two days of connection and celebration.

Shop authentic African foods, handmade crafts, clothing, candles, and holiday gifts — all while enjoying live music, delicious bites, and a vibrant cultural atmosphere. Guests will also have the opportunity to learn about Medi-Cal health coverage through a friendly outreach table, helping community members stay healthy and informed this holiday season.

African Family Fun, Food Drive & Feast Day

Join us for African Family Fun, Food Drive & Feast Day—good vibes, community love, and tasty eats all around!

Join us for an uplifting end-of-year celebration centered on African joy, tradition, and community care. This family-friendly event brings together food, creativity, music, and collective giving as we support families locally and abroad.

We invite attendees to bring non-perishable food items for our community food drive, and to participate in cultural arts activities that highlight the beauty and diversity of African creativity. Kids and families will also have the opportunity to create small gifts and write notes of encouragement for children in Sudan and the DRC, in partnership with nonprofits serving these regions.
